Senior Expert Lead in Security Technology, Vetle Toreid.

Our goal is to inspire more applications for tech subjects before the higher education deadline on April 15th. We also aim to give a glimpse into the tech work life at DNB.

This article introduces you to our Senior Expert Lead in Security Technology, Vetle Toreid. Get to know him better:

Q: Name, age
A: Vetle Toreid, 41

Q: Education
A: Master of Technology (sivilingeniør), NTNU, 2007

Q: Why did you choose this study?
A: I have always been fascinated by technology, everything it can do for us – but also how it can be misused. Understanding this and how we can maximise tech utilisation and at the same time minimise risk by “doing it right” was a goal for me.

Q: Why did you apply for a job at DNB?
A: DNB is a tech company with a banking license. The complexity of IT in an old, large Group of companies combined with ambitious goals moving to modern technology – under an increasingly tougher threat landscape – that’s the kind of place to be when you love technology, security and endless challenges!

Q: What is the most exciting thing you have worked on at DNB?
A: We have just ended a three-year programme called the Cyber Security Roadmap where we have lifted the security maturity level of DNB significantly through a large number of efforts across DNB’s large IT organisation. This was challenging but a lot of fun!

Q: Why should technologists apply for a job at DNB?
A: High number of very skilled IT professionals that one can learn from. Challenging tasks and incredible opportunities for growing knowledge and skills. Being part of providing great, secure banking and other services to 2 million people and more than 230.000 companies in Norway and 17 countries world-wide.

Q: What should one do to end up in the job you have?
A: Find the tech study programme that is right for you. Perform academically, but also be curious and do tech projects on the side, engage in groups and communities that are relevant, and chase relevant part-time jobs and summer internships.

Norway needs more technologists!

Choose a tech subject by April 15th.
