Q: Name, age?
A: Alice Skramstad, 31.
Q: Education?
A: Bachelor of Science and Economics in International Politics, and Masters in Human Computer Interaction.
Q: Why did you choose this study?
A: Originally I wanted to join the British Foreign Office to become a diplomat, that is why I studied politics. However after becoming a mother very young I had to put the FO aside. I ended up in Norway and discovered I quite liked tech and data, my Masters was my way into tech. The road into technology isn’t always linear!
Q: Why did you apply for a job at DNB?
A: I conducted my master thesis within DNB, and I wanted to see how my work continued after my studies finished. It’s great to see it in practice!
Q: What is the most exciting thing you have worked on at DNB?
A: Contributing on getting our new data platform from concept and into production was a unique experience I feel very lucky to have been a part of.
Q: Why should technologists apply for a job at DNB?
A: There is so much choice of interesting technologies in DNB, and you have the room to make a real impact with your work.
Q: What should one do to end up in the job you have?
A: Aside from having the necessary skills in our tech stack, you ought to be passionate and empathetic about making a real change for our customers and users. Having a user-centred approach to data engineering is desirable.
