Every day an amount of 1.5 times the annual state budget passes through our systems. On a yearly basis, 247 million transactions run through our bank’s veins. We have 220.000 corporate customers and 3.3 million private customers. We are the heartbeat of Norwegian economy.
Relies on our infrastructure
Keeping that heart beating steadily requires highly robust, secure, and user-friendly systems. And that in turn relies on our infrastructure. Among the most important elements of that infrastructure are the people we employ. We have a broad variety of roles, from in-depth specialists to broad generalists, who oversee all aspects of technology and business, as well as compliance, legal matters, agile and communication.
These people also ensure that our systems are always available, reliable, and future-proofed. They are the driving force in the development of the bank of the future; this is realized through the application of technological expertise and continual innovation.

While our core tech mission is to intensify efforts to modernize core systems, reinforce the engineering culture and focus on data and architecture, our goal for this blog is to showcase all aspects of the technologies we utilize and share ideas and experiences so that more people can see why we love working at DNB. In other words, this blog will shed light on the tech transformation journey in the Norwegian financial industry.

We have no ambition to develop this blog into a blockbuster, instead we aim to share content from the different aspects of our everyday tech-life at DNB, highlighting how we maintain a steady heartbeat – and share experiences and learnings for when the “heart” skips a beat.
